Laminated Promoted Rubber

Superior Bonding Solutions for Multi-Layer Assemblies

Expert Laminated Rubber Manufacturing

DDC-Omni specializes in laminated promoted rubber, combining multiple layers of rubber, foam, fabric, or other materials into durable composite assemblies. Our promoted (chemically treated) rubber surfaces ensure superior bond strength and long-lasting performance in demanding applications.

Laminated Promoted Rubber

What is Laminated Promoted Rubber?

Laminated promoted rubber involves bonding multiple layers of materials together with special surface treatment (promotion) that enhances adhesive compatibility and bond strength. The promotion process modifies the rubber surface chemically to accept adhesives that would otherwise not bond effectively, creating strong, permanent assemblies resistant to delamination.

Applications

  • Automotive: Multi-layer gaskets, vibration dampening mounts, and composite seals
  • HVAC Systems: Composite duct gaskets with insulation and sealing layers
  • Industrial Equipment: Anti-vibration pads with reinforcement layers
  • Marine: Laminated seals for hatches, doors, and bulkheads
  • Electronics: EMI shielding gaskets with foam backing
  • Appliances: Door gaskets with magnetic strips and foam cushioning

Materials We Laminate

We can bond a wide variety of materials in custom combinations:

  • Rubber elastomers (EPDM, neoprene, nitrile, silicone, natural rubber)
  • Foam materials (polyurethane, neoprene, EPDM, polyethylene)
  • Fabrics and textiles (cotton, polyester, nylon)
  • Cork and cork/rubber composites
  • Adhesive tapes and films
  • Magnetic strips
  • Metal foils and meshes
  • Plastic sheets and films

Lamination Capabilities

  • Layer Count: 2 to 5+ layers in single assembly
  • Total Thickness: 1/16" to 3" combined thickness
  • Sheet Size: Up to 60" x 120" panel size
  • Adhesive Systems: Pressure-sensitive, heat-activated, or contact adhesives
  • Bond Strength: Tested to ensure peel and shear strength requirements
  • Surface Promotion: Chemical treatment for difficult-to-bond elastomers

Promotion Process Benefits

  • Enhanced Adhesion: Dramatically improved bond strength
  • Durability: Resistant to temperature extremes, moisture, and chemicals
  • Versatility: Enables bonding of materials that won't normally adhere
  • Longevity: Prevents delamination over product lifetime
  • Flexibility: Maintains material flexibility while providing strong bonds
